AVIAN Vision
Turn any CCTV network into a fire detection system
AVIAN Vision is an AI-powered video fire and smoke detection layer that runs on your existing CCTV cameras. An on-premise server continuously analyzes every frame for the visual signatures of smoke and flames — and dispatches alerts to SMS, phone, WhatsApp, or your team within seconds.
The problem
Most CCTV systems record fires. They don't catch them.
Industrial sites are full of cameras. Loading docks, racking aisles, baler bays, charging halls, production lines — all of them recorded, almost none of them watched in real time. When a fire starts, the footage exists. The alert does not.
Conventional smoke detectors and aspirating systems do their job where the air is clean and the ceiling is reachable. In tall, dusty, drafty, or open industrial spaces they detect later than the operations team would like — sometimes after a small ignition has already become a real event.
AVIAN Vision turns the CCTV you already own into an additional detection layer that watches every frame, every second, across every camera — and routes the alert to a human or a control system the moment smoke or flame becomes visible.
How it works
AI fire detection without new cameras
Route your existing CCTV feeds to an on-premise AVIAN Vision server. A first-stage AI model runs locally on every camera, every second. When that model flags a high-likelihood smoke or flame event, the relevant clip is sent to a larger, more capable model on the AVIAN platform for verification — keeping false alarms low while keeping bulk video on-site.
AI smoke & flame detection
Models trained on thousands of real-world industrial fire events detect the visual signatures of smoke and flames across varied lighting and scene conditions.
Works with your existing CCTV
Compatible with standard IP cameras from Axis, Dahua, Hikvision and most other major brands. We recommend at least 1080p at 20 frames per second for best detection performance.
Two-stage AI: local first, then verified
One AVIAN Vision server runs first-stage detection on up to 160 camera streams locally. Only when a likely event is flagged does a clip leave the site for a larger, higher-accuracy model on the AVIAN platform to verify before alerting your team.
Five-second alerts to people & systems
Alerts dispatch within seconds via SMS, WhatsApp, automated phone call, email, or API — and can trigger PLC integrations for automated equipment response.
In production today
Trusted by industrial leaders to watch their existing CCTV
AVIAN Vision is deployed at facilities including IKEA and Blumer Lehmann — operations where the cost of a fire event is measured in millions and the existing camera infrastructure was already substantial. Both customers chose AVIAN Vision because it provides an early signal when something is wrong without ripping out the infrastructure they had already invested in.
IKEA
Global furnishings retailer using AVIAN Vision as an AI-powered early-warning layer over its existing CCTV infrastructure.
Blumer Lehmann
Leading Swiss timber engineering and wood products company using AVIAN Vision alongside AVIAN T100 thermal cameras for layered fire prevention.
Where it works best
Built for indoor industrial sites with existing CCTV
AVIAN Vision performs best in indoor industrial environments where the camera infrastructure is already in place and the cost of a fire event is high. We focus on indoor deployments for the most reliable detection — outdoor and yard fire risk is typically better served by AVIAN T100 thermal cameras.
Manufacturing & assembly plants
Broad-area smoke and flame detection across production floors, warehouses, and finishing lines that already have CCTV coverage.
Warehouses & distribution centers
Catch ignitions in racking aisles, packaging zones, and battery-charging areas before sprinklers activate or staff arrive.
Recycling & waste handling
Early warning for shredder fires, baler hot spots, and lithium-in-waste events that drive insurance premiums and shutdowns.
EV charging depots & lithium storage
Visual fire signatures around charging bays and battery rooms, alerting the team within seconds of a thermal-runaway event becoming visible.
Heavy industry & process plants
Broad AI coverage across operations where existing CCTV is already in place and the cost of a fire event is high.
Logistics yards & indoor storage
Round-the-clock AI watching loading docks, transfer halls, and bulk storage for the first sign of smoke or flame.
Vision + Thermal
Broad coverage from your CCTV. Earliest detection where it matters.
AVIAN Vision and AVIAN T100 thermal cameras solve complementary problems. Vision watches every frame from the CCTV you already own, catching visible smoke and flame the moment they appear. T100 thermal cameras catch surface heat — often hours or days before flame is visible — at the highest-risk equipment. Most facilities deploy both.

Together, AVIAN Vision and AVIAN T100 form a layered fire prevention solution: a broad AI early-warning blanket across every existing CCTV camera, and dedicated thermal monitoring at the strategic points where the earliest possible detection matters most.
An early-warning layer, not a replacement for certified fire detection
AVIAN Vision is an AI overlay on the CCTV you already own. It is not a certified fire alarm system, and it does not replace the fire detection your local code requires — NFPA 72, EN 54, VdS, or your insurer's standard. Your existing alarms, sprinklers, and aspirating systems stay in place.
What AVIAN Vision adds is another pair of eyes on every camera, every second — the moment smoke or flame becomes visible, the people and systems that need to act are notified within seconds. Layered safety, with the infrastructure you already own.

Frequently asked questions
Does AVIAN Vision require new cameras?
No. AVIAN Vision connects to your existing CCTV through an on-premise AVIAN Vision server. It works with standard IP cameras from Axis, Dahua, Hikvision, and most other major brands. We typically recommend at least 1080p resolution at 20 frames per second for best detection performance.
How many cameras can one AVIAN Vision server support?
Our default server configuration supports up to 80 cameras. Larger deployments can scale to 160 cameras on a single server, with multi-server topologies available for very large sites.
Where does the AI inference run — on-premise or in the cloud?
AVIAN Vision uses a two-stage architecture. A first-stage AI model runs locally on the on-premise AVIAN Vision server, analyzing every camera, every second. Bulk video stays on site. Only when the local model flags a high-likelihood smoke or flame event does the relevant clip get sent to a larger, more capable verification model on the AVIAN platform. This design keeps false alarms low and lets us scale to 80 to 160 cameras per server while still hitting roughly five-second alert latency.
How quickly does AVIAN Vision alert us?
Alerts are typically generated within five seconds of a visible smoke or flame event. Notifications are dispatched immediately through SMS, WhatsApp, automated phone call, email, or API — and can trigger PLC integrations for automated equipment response.
Is AVIAN Vision a certified fire alarm system?
No, and that is intentional. AVIAN Vision is an AI early-warning layer that runs on top of your existing CCTV. It does not replace certified fire detection systems required by NFPA 72, EN 54, VdS, or your local code. Your existing fire alarms, sprinklers, and aspirating systems stay in place. AVIAN Vision adds another pair of eyes that catches visible smoke and flame the moment they appear on any camera.
How is AVIAN Vision different from AVIAN T100 thermal cameras?
AVIAN Vision uses AI on the visible-light video from your existing CCTV — it sees smoke and flame once they appear. AVIAN T100 is a dedicated thermal camera that monitors surface temperature, often catching abnormal heat days or hours before flame breakout. We recommend AVIAN T100 thermal monitoring whenever the earliest possible detection of an emerging fire risk is paramount, and AVIAN Vision for broad early-warning coverage across the whole site. Most facilities deploy both.
Does AVIAN Vision work outdoors?
AVIAN Vision can support some outdoor scenarios, but we focus on indoor industrial sites for the best detection performance. Outdoor environments — variable lighting, weather, and long sight lines — can degrade visible-light fire detection. For outdoor fire risk monitoring such as stockpiles, biomass storage, or yard areas, we typically recommend AVIAN T100 thermal cameras.
How accurate is AVIAN Vision at avoiding false alarms?
Our AI models are trained on thousands of real industrial fire events and a wide range of nuisance scenarios across many camera types and lighting conditions. Real-world performance depends on camera placement, scene activity, and how the system is tuned to your facility — our deployment team handles tuning during onboarding.
Does AVIAN Vision integrate with our PLC or control systems?
Yes — AVIAN Vision can dispatch alerts to existing PLCs to trigger automated equipment responses such as stopping a conveyor or activating a deluge release. Because AVIAN Vision is not a certified fire detection system, it does not integrate directly to your code-required fire alarm panel — that system stays in place and untouched. We work with your integration partner during deployment to wire alerts into the right control surface.
How is the system installed and how long does deployment take?
AVIAN ships and configures the on-premise AVIAN Vision server, your team or integrator routes existing camera feeds to it, and the AVIAN team tunes the detection models for your facility. Most sites are live in days, not months — there is no new camera hardware to install.
Who is using AVIAN Vision today?
AVIAN Vision is in production at industrial facilities across Europe and North America, including IKEA and Blumer Lehmann, where it provides early warning across existing CCTV without requiring infrastructure changes.
Is the data secure?
Yes. AVIAN is SOC 2 Type II audited under AICPA standards. First-stage detection runs locally on the on-premise server, and the only video that leaves your site is short verification clips of high-likelihood smoke or flame events — sent encrypted in transit to the larger AVIAN platform model. Routine bulk video stays on-premise. View our SOC 2 Type II report and security documentation in our trust center.
